Description
Build an infrared revolving door by firstly building along with securing the door and supporting frame by using plastic grid boards, angle brackets, plastic poles and a metal rod. Next engineer and attach your revolving system by attaching your gear motor to the metal rod in the middle of the frame. Finally wire to the battery box and infrared detector.
Young people learn the concepts of infrared technology. Infrared presence detectors sense any moving object even objects that we cannot see. Since the primary source of infrared radiation is heat or thermal radiation, any object which has a temperature radiates in the infrared. Even objects that we think would be far too cold like ice emits infrared. The higher the temperature of the object the more infrared radiation it emits. This projects also explores gears and electrical circuit concepts.
The main parts in this STEM project combines a mixture of:
- Gear Motor
- Infrared Detector
- Screws
- Angle Brackets
- Battery Box
- Metal Rod
- Plastic Poles
- Plastic Grid Base
