The StemWizz Electromagnetic Swing
“A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles.” Zig Ziglar
Create an electromagnetic swing by firstly building a frame to support the swing by combining metal brackets, plastic rods and a T plate. Attach the eye bolts to the frame. Wire your alligator clips to the battery box, create a pendulum swing using wire and attach to the eye bolts and voila you have created your very own electro magnetic experiment.
Young people learn about magnetic and electrical circuit concepts and when combined create an electromagnetic swing. Electromagnetism is the physical interaction among electric charges, magnetic moments, and the electromagnetic field. Here we learn about Ampere’s Law which allows us to bridge the gap between electricity and magnetism; that is, it provides us with a mathematical relation between magnetic fields and electric currents. The electromagnetic field can be static, slowly changing, or form waves.
The main parts in this STEM project combines a mixture of:
- Battery Box
- Alligator Clips
- Wire
- Eye Bolts
- Brackets
- Plastics Rods
- T Plate
- Magnet
